Sterner Insurance Associates Inc.
Debra was born and raised in Lehigh County and continues to reside
there. Emmaus has been home to her and her husband Keith since 1993.
They have two married sons who live in Lancaster and Boyertown.
They are not quite an “empty nest” as there is Daisy,
a Jack Russell terrier, who keeps the house lively. Debra enjoys
her hobbies of scrapbooking and cooking. She shares the passions
of Philadelphia Eagles football and camping with her husband.
After graduating from Southern Lehigh High School in 1977, Debra
worked as an Administrative Assistant until entering the insurance
field with PMA in 1988. During her employment there, she obtained
her Pennsylvania insurance license and completed IIA while servicing
direct accounts. In 1998 Debra took a Technical Assistant position
with Selective Insurance where she advanced to the underwriting
role of Business Management Analyst. Selective gave her the opportunity
to work closely with many area insurance agencies ranging from Pottstown
to Harrisburg.
In March of 2008 Debra was offered a position with Sterner Insurance
Agency as a Customer Service Agent. This position gave Debra the
opportunity to return to the career she truly enjoys, working directly
with customers and servicing their insurance needs.
Debra is currently working on obtaining her Certified Insurance
Service Representative (CISR) designation. She also participates
in continuing education courses to maintain her license and strengthen
her insurance knowledge.
